Resources for Large Dataset Research: CELDAC

The Philip R. Lee Institute for Healthy Policy Studies and the UCSF Clinical and Translational Science Institute have collaborated to develop the Comparative Effectiveness Large Dataset Analysis Core (CELDAC), which provides resources to facilitate the use of large public data sets:

  • A searchable online inventory with information on more than 80 mational, state and local health datasets. Entries have summary descriptions as well as information on how to acquire the dataset. http://ctsi.ucsf.edu/research/celdac
  • Datasets that CELDAC has purchased several large datasets that are available to UCSF researchers at no cost, by completing an application. These include national and state level data sets from the Healthcare cost and Utilization Project (HCUP). http://ctsi.ucsf.edu/news/archive/5846
  • Consultation services to help with using large datasets for research. http://ctsi.ucsf.edu/consult
