Research Focus:

Neurodegenerative disorders and the behavioral neurology of neurodegenerative disease

Dr. Miller is a Professor of Neurology at UCSF where he holds the A.W. & Mary Margaret Clausen Distinguished Chair. He is the clinical director of the UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC), and directs the NIH-funded program project on frontotemporal dementia (FTD) called Frontotemporal Dementia: Genes, Images and Emotions, the UCSF Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and a Hillblom Network Grant. Dr. Miller has more than 25 years of experience in the research of neurodegenerative disorders and has focused on the behavioral neurology of neurodegenerative disease, including clinical, imaging, and neuropathological perspectives. In recognition of his work, Dr. Miller was awarded the 2010 American Academy of Neurology Potamkin Prize for Research in Pick’s, Alzheimer’s and Related Diseases.
